Tournaments

 Tournaments


Tournaments will be held in bracket-style. Every participant will be grouped according to size--depending on how many kids enter. All children will start out as "Pages". The winners of the first round will become "Squires". Squires will compete to become the Knight for each size bracket. Knights and Squires will win a colored bracer to recognize their skill in battle. When a Squire becomes a Knight in their size bracket, they will move on to the next size bracket and increase the challenge. 

As we are still determining how these will work, the rules of Tournaments may be updated. 

Currently, each battle will consist of 5 points. The King, Commander, and Goggles will declare a winner and their name will be recorded on the Tournament Bracket. 


Tournaments will be held:

November 19th
December 17th
January 28th
February 25th
March 25th

And a Final Tournament where the overall Tournament Master will be declared will be 

April 29th

What to Expect

Our club is not just for sword  fighting , it is for sword  mastery  (or as masterfully as you can get with duct tape swords meant for fun). Each week there will be new exercises and games to enhance your sword fighting skills, followed by weekly battles. Once a month there will be a tournament where pages can become squires, and one squire can become a knight. Each knight will move up to the next skill level to compete against more difficult challengers.  Points are awarded during a battle as follows: Chest and Back hits are worth 2 points. Arm and Leg hits are worth 1 point.
